Reasons Why You Should Avoid Cheap SEO Packages

Share

There is no doubt that search engine optimisation is an essential strategy when it comes to digital marketing, and any business owner will of course want to look into ways in which they can implement SEO in order to boost their chances of success. Unfortunately however some business owners don’t want to splurge on this area of the business and so they make the mistake of buying cheap SEO packages. If you look for search engine optimisation consulting in Sydney or another big city for example, you’ll find well priced and high quality services. Using an unknown company online which charges low fees however, is not going to make for a very smart move, and here is why.

Wasted Link Building

At the end of the campaign you may very well be shown a plethora of websites which are linking to your site, and told that those links will help to boost your business up the search rankings. Whilst it is very important that multiple sites link to yours, low level links are not worth your time and they will have absolutely no bearing on the quality of your site in terms of SEO. The idea is to have links from high ranking websites, something which a cheap package won’t help you with.

Do Better Yourself

The main reason why a cheap package is a waste of money is because in most cases they are preying on the fact that most people do not have a clue what they are doing when it comes to SEO. The truth is however that in most cases, you could spend a few hours online learning about SEO and deliver the same, if not better, results as a cheap SEO firm, and it would cost you significantly less money.

Poor ROI

As with any marketing strategy or approach, it is essential that a business is able to count on a solid ROI when they spend money. When it comes to a cheap SEO package business owners must be careful, as the cheap tag would have them believe that they’ll be saving money in doing this. The truth however is that the ROI on cheap services like this is horrendous and most business owners will see very little, if any, return on their investment.

Short Term Gain

In some situations we see businesses get a short term gain thanks to the services of an SEO team, except that they are actually running the risk of long term problems. The reason for this is called black hat tactics, something which is not accepted in the online community but which can get results. If black hat tactics are employed then the business will see some positive results, but if Google or another search engine catch wind of what has happened, they will punish the business website which will see it lose all of its statistics.

The best practice is to find an SEO team which fits into your budget and if you cannot afford it then take things into your own hands until you can.
